How many coaching sessions does it take to experience the change you want to achieve?

Each individual and each situation is different and will take the appropriate number of sessions to accomplish the objectives intended. On average, people have learned the concepts and make change happen within 3 to 6 months, or 6 to 12 sessions.

What preparation should I do prior to a coaching session?

There is no preparation required. We will be working in the present moment, looking at what is happening currently and determining what is the next best step, based on the goals you have set.

What is the difference between counseling and coaching?

Both coaching and counseling are valuable modalities depending on the individual’s needs, objectives and circumstances. At times, both are utilized simultaneously.

Counseling professionals are utilizing standardized psychological categories to assess and identify patterns in your behavior which may be causing problems in your relationships, etc. Often looking back into your past, counselors may require a detailed history as preparation for the sessions.

Ontological Coaching on the other hand, is a positive proactive approach to connecting you to your inherent strengths and abilities, and supporting you to bring these strengths to bare on what you want to achieve. The coach is trained to ask questions specifically designed to help you shed light on your own truth, making you consciously aware of your unconscious thoughts which may be preventing you from taking the actions you want to take, and being the best that you can be. You and the coach will partner to discover what matters most to you, to craft the goals you wish to achieve, and to build a step by step action plan for success, bringing more happiness and satisfaction into your life.

How do I find the best coach for me?

First, be sure the coach is certified as a Professional Certified Coach with experience and references in the field of your interest.

Second, research their websites, learn why they became a coach and what life and professional experiences qualify them to coach you Third, call and arrange a time to speak with a few coaches directly. Prepare a list of questions prior to the call and be able to assess if you feel a sense of ‘connection’ with one of the coaches.

Following these simple steps should make it easy to find a coach for your style, your situation, and your intended objectives.
